Embustera

el Cardenal designed and made the entire costumes for the performance piece “Embustera“.

This piece is based on the life of Magdalena de la Cruz, a Spanish Franciscan nun who for many years was honored as a saint during her lifetime, with abundant mystical visions and miracles.

After falling seriously ill in 1543, she Magdalena herself confessed to a long career of deceit and hypocrisy, attributing most of the wonders attributed to the action of the demons by which she considered herself possessed.

From here, 3 scenes from her life are symbolically represented: ecstasy, sanctification and martyrdom.
